Metal 3D Printing

Booling’s metal 3D printing uses a spherical metal powder with very small particle diameters to build metal three-dimensional parts layer by layer, which can produce complex geometric shapes and internal structures that are difficult to achieve with traditional methods. Booling can achieve integrated molding, reduce the welding and assembly process of metal parts, and achieve rapid prototyping and delivery of products by using metal 3D printing technology.

Metal 3D Printing Technology

Booling can stack metal powder or wire layer by layer according to the 3D model data to form complex parts or structures.

  1. Powder bed fusion (PBF)

PBF is a type of metal 3D printing technology, mainly including selective laser melting (SLM) and electron beam melting (EBM) technology.

(1) Selective laser melting (SLM)

A high-power laser selectively melts and fuses metal powder or particles in the powder bed to build objects layer by layer. Booling has a high-power density laser to accelerate the melting speed of the metal powder.

(2) Electron beam melting (EBM)

This technology is carried out in a vacuum environment and uses a high-energy electron beam to selectively melt metal powder particles to produce parts with excellent mechanical properties and reduce residual stress.

  1. Direct energy deposition (DED)

Use a high-energy laser to melt metal powder or wire and deposit it on the substrate, stacking it layer by layer to form a 3D shape. DED technology has a faster printing speed and is suitable for processing large parts or repairing parts.

  1. Binder jetting technology

This technology involves selectively depositing a liquid binder layer by layer on a metal powder bed to create a solid product. Binder jetting technology is suitable for the production of products with complex structures and geometries.
