How We Make Water Pipes

Injection Mold Production

We produce custom injection molds for auto plastic water pipes. All our molds are engineered with independent cooling circuits to ensure uniform wall thickness across the entire part. This is critical for auto plastic water pipes manufacturing: uneven cooling will cause part deformation, which prevents reliable, proper sealing at the O-ring groove.

Mold Temperature Control

For PA66 filler pipes, mold temperature must be strictly maintained at 80-100°C, regulated by oil-based temperature control units (TCUs) — not water-based systems. This effectively prevents premature skin freezing, eliminating dull surface finish and reduced structural integrity, especially at weld line areas.

Available Materials for Auto Plastic Water Pipes

PA66 GF30
Core Material

Its tensile strength reaches approximately 180 MPa in dry as-molded condition, and drops to around 100 MPa after moisture conditioning. This is a critical performance consideration, as automotive coolant contains 50% water. Products made of this material support continuous operation at 120°C for over 3000 hours.

PA66 GF35
Primary Material
It is specified for thermostat housings, pipes with integrated flanges, and applications requiring vibration fatigue resistance. This material delivers an approximately 15% to 20% higher flexural modulus compared to PA66-GF30.
PPS GF40
Mainstream Material

This material is specified for turbocharger coolant pipes, EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) cooler connectors, and all piping applications with continuous exposure to environments above 150°C. The Heat Deflection Temperature (HDT) of PPS-GF40 exceeds 260°C.

The mold and the parts come from the same building

At Booling, our tool room and molding shop are located in close proximity, and are managed and operated by the same unified team. If any issue arises during production, our mold engineers can immediately attend the injection molding machine, pull a molded part, inspect it on the CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine), and then either adjust processing parameters or modify the mold steel components, all based on on-site actual conditions.
The entire process requires no lengthy meetings, no back-and-forth emails, and no finger-pointing. Issues are resolved quickly and smoothly.

Full-Process Workflow

Please send us your 3D CAD files. Our engineering team will conduct a comprehensive review of your design to assess moldability constraints, including wall thickness uniformity, draft angles of inner bores, and weld line positioning relative to critical stress areas. We will deliver a DFM (Design for Manufacturability) Report within 24 hours, containing actionable, targeted optimization recommendations.

For tubular components, the fill pattern is critically important. Improper gate placement will create a 180° circumferential weld line around the pipe — a high-risk failure point that will crack during thermal cycling, cooling and curing phases. To optimize gate positioning and minimize material waste, customers will receive a full Mold Flow Analysis Report, including detailed fill time, pressure distribution and predicted weld line locations.

We will extract one sample from each mold cavity for T0 first-shot sampling. We will run a full series of validations to verify cavity fill balance, followed by trial production at the target cycle time. All parts undergo strict dimensional inspection, and samples will be shipped to customers within 7 days after the T0 trial.
The shipment will include a dimensional report, material certification, and full documentation of all product observations (including sink marks, weld line appearance, ejection marks) to help customers fully evaluate the mold and parts before mass production.

We will provide full PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation, including:

  • Full dimensional layout of parts (all cavities, all key characteristics)
  • Material certifications (resin grade, lot number, DSC/FTIR traceability records)
  • Thermal cycling test report
  • Leak test summary (full data from the validation run)
  • Complete processing parameters (barrel temperature, mold temperature, injection pressure, holding pressure time, cooling time, total cycle time)

Once mass production is formally approved, we conduct 100% quality inspection for every part and maintain full traceability records, tracking every box of components back to raw material specifications. All shipments are accompanied by a Certificate of Conformity (CoC), which summarizes all quality data for each. production batch.
